Tech for Good: HackTech’25 Takes on Wildfires
This year, HackTech’25 pivoted its full energy toward one urgent issue: the devastating wildfires that struck Cyprus. Over 48 intense hours, 25 teams of developers, designers and tech enthusiasts came together under the rallying cry “Tech vs Wildfires”.
The outcome was inspiring. Competing teams produced a range of inventive prototypes — including drone-based forest surveillance, AI-driven fire-prediction models, and systems for coordinating emergency response and volunteer efforts. A dedicated jury composed of tech experts, government officials, and emergency services selected the winners, splitting a €30,000 prize fund across the top teams.
By aligning HackTech’25 with a clear environmental cause, AdTech Holding transformed a hackathon from a code-fest into a force for social good — proving that technology can play a vital role in protecting nature and building a safer, more resilient future for the community.
